SAAB enables 50cm, 50ms rider tracking with Locatify

The customer, SAAB, in collaboration with the Swedish Ridsportsförbundet, faced the challenge of installing an indoor positioning system to track rider movement in the Strömsholm riding arena. The system required high precision, needing 50cm accuracy and updates every 50 milliseconds. They partnered with the vendor Locatify to implement an ultra-wideband (UWB) indoor positioning solution.

Locatify's solution involved mounting UWB anchors on the arena walls and attaching UWB tags to riders' helmets. The captured positioning data was sent to the RTLS Studio analytics tool to visualize rider and horse behavior for improving training plans. This implementation by Locatify successfully provided the precise tracking needed to analyze and enhance equestrian sport training.
