RAC partnered with Descartes Localz to improve the breakdown experience for customers who were anxious because they could not see accurate ETAs or track the progress of their assigned patrol. Using Localz’s “On my way” service and configurable management dashboard, RAC aimed to provide clearer, more reassuring communications during roadside assistance.

Descartes Localz implemented real-time ETA updates, live tracking, map countdowns, patrol details, safety notifications, and the ability to disable tracking if a patrol was diverted. The result was a more transparent customer experience that increased confidence and peace of mind, while also helping RAC reduce inbound calls, improve retention, boost NPS, and strengthen social recommendations.
