The City of Quincy, Illinois needed better visibility into lost revenue and a simpler way to manage tax collection as short-term rentals grew and a new food-and-beverage tax came online. Quincy turned to Localgov, along with its revenue-review partner Azavar, to help identify unpaid taxes, register businesses, and create a more efficient filing and payment process.
Localgov implemented a cloud-based remittance platform with digital filing, payment options, and concierge customer support to guide taxpayers through registration and compliance. The results were strong: within 60 days, more than 94% of business taxpayers had registered and paid food-and-beverage taxes, hotel-tax compliance was achieved almost immediately, and Quincy recovered more than $80K in missed hospitality-related revenue.
