Ithaca College Secures Document Access with Lobby Track

Ithaca College, a private institution in Ithaca, New York, needed a way to track vital documents stored in its file room and to associate files with the employees who borrowed them. The college selected Lobby Track’s file-tracking system to inventory file room contents and provide a “library-type” check in/check out process to reduce missing files and create an electronic record of file custody.

Using Lobby Track, Ithaca College added each file as an equipment item, printed barcode labels, registered users with unique ID badges, and implemented barcode scanning to check files in and out. The solution gave staff an up-to-date inventory, clear check-out history tied to individual users, and the ability to locate checked-out files—delivering measurable reductions in lost files and a simple, secure way to control file access.
