Case Study: Arcadian IoT improves urban emergency response and surveillance with LOAD's Drone Guard Angel

Arcadian IoT advances Drone Guard Angel to TRL 6 with LOAD

LOAD developed the Drone Guard Angel (DGA) service for Arcadian IoT, which aimed to evolve IoT systems towards decentralized and user-controllable privacy. The challenge was to demonstrate this platform's applicability through a use case focused on using drones for emergency response and surveillance, ensuring security and privacy while tracking and monitoring individuals in urban areas.

The solution implemented by LOAD involved a service where a user could request a drone escort via a smartphone app. The drone would then authenticate the user, surveil the journey for threats using AI-powered image recognition, and alert authorities if needed. LOAD's system incorporated multi-level authentication, local data processing, encryption, and autonomous security mechanisms to protect privacy and data. This is an ongoing project aimed at reaching Technology Readiness Level 6 to create a prototype for a future business model.
