The customer, Public Information Kiosk, Inc., was working with the U.S. Army to provide military personnel without computers access to government and library databases. Their challenge was to deploy a secure, user-friendly kiosk solution that could be managed centrally for bases worldwide. To meet this need, they partnered with vendor Livewire Digital.

Livewire Digital provided a total solution known as the e-Branch Library, which included the kiosk software application and the network services for real-time management and monitoring. The initial deployment of seven kiosks in Afghanistan and Kuwait provided personnel with 24/7 access to a wide range of electronic services, including library databases, government information, and printing capabilities. This implementation successfully delivered immediate library access to users in remote locations.
