Reimagining One of the World’s Largest Regattas with REMI Production

The Head Of The Charles Regatta, one of the world's largest rowing events, faced a significant challenge in broadcasting its three-day race. The need to cover the extensive course with multiple camera angles was complicated by the high cost and difficulty of running cable, as well as a weak cellular network. They required a robust and reliable live video solution from vendor LiveU to ensure a continuous global broadcast.

The solution implemented by LiveU utilized a REMI production model with ten camera stations powered by LiveU HEVC units. This cellular bonded technology, along with priority SIMs and the IP Pipe feature for remote camera control, provided a rock-solid transmission. The reliable and easy-to-use technology freed the production team to focus on creative coverage, greatly enhancing the value of the broadcast for viewers at home.
