LiveU Powers the Sun Belt College Conference

The Sun Belt Conference, a collegiate athletic conference, faced the challenge of producing numerous neutral site championship events across various sports. The high costs and logistical difficulties of using traditional onsite production trucks and third-party crews made it difficult to scale their live coverage. The conference sought a solution to reduce expenses and cover more events, including those in remote or inaccessible venues like golf courses and cross country trails.

To address this, the Sun Belt Conference implemented a remote production (REMI) workflow centered around LiveU technology. This solution allowed them to centralize all productions from a new control room in New Orleans. By using LiveU to capture and transmit high-quality video from bandwidth-challenged locations, they eliminated the need for outside production companies. The results were significant: LiveU enabled the simultaneous broadcast of multiple championships, drastically reduced production costs, provided full brand control, and increased national exposure and sponsorship opportunities through the ESPN platform.
