A LiveU Case Study

Preview of the Tupelo Honey Case Study

Indianapolis-based production company, Tupelo Honey, uses the LU800 to cover The Basketball Tournament broadcasting on ESPN

Tupelo Honey, an Indianapolis-based production company, faced the challenge of broadcasting The Basketball Tournament live on ESPN from multiple locations across the United States. Their goal was to reduce travel, cut costs, and enhance the production quality for the multi-week event. They turned to vendor LiveU for a solution.

LiveU implemented its Remote Production solution, deploying two LU800 multi-camera transmission units on-site. This allowed Tupelo Honey to send eight simultaneous live video feeds back to their Indianapolis control facility with under a second of latency. The solution provided critical redundancy through cellular backup, ensuring reliable broadcasting. As a result, the production crew was able to incorporate live look-ins from multiple simultaneous games, delivering a more comprehensive and holistic broadcast of the tournament for ESPN.
