Hudson PD Leverages Cutting-Edge IP-Video for Overwatch Operations

The Hudson Police Department sought to enhance their situational awareness and response capabilities to better serve and protect their community. They turned to vendor LiveU to find a way to leverage their existing drone fleet for real-time, overwatch operations during both critical incidents and public events.

LiveU's solution involved integrating its IP-video field encoder with the department's drones to enable the live streaming of feeds directly to command centers and field personnel. This deployment, which utilized the LiveU Video Return platform, resulted in more efficient and safer operations, such as successfully executing a search warrant for an illegal firearm and providing overwatch for a 6,000-person fundraising event. LiveU technology provided crucial visual intelligence that saved time and resources, preventing unnecessary responses and ensuring officer and public safety.
