Eurovision Sport Deploys LiveU’s EcoSystem to Create Enhanced Coverage of the UCI’s First Integrated Cycling World Championships

Eurovision Sport, the sports arm of the European Broadcasting Union, faced the significant challenge of producing cost-effective and resilient live coverage for the sprawling 2023 UCI Cycling World Championships across Scotland. They required a reliable solution to bring back broadcast signals from numerous remote and mobile sources, including motorbikes and helicopters, to their central production hub and to secure the contribution network across ten different venues with a robust backup.

LiveU deployed its EcoSystem, including LU800 field units and cloud services, to provide a resilient, IP-based bonding solution. This allowed for the cost-effective acquisition and secure transport of multiple video feeds. The implementation resulted in agile and captivating global coverage, which increased the number of international takers for the event. LiveU provided a complete service that enabled several broadcasters to create their own remote productions, offering a more economical alternative to satellite feeds.
