Emerson College uses LiveU Smart app to expand live video contribution potential for students

Emerson College sought to expand its journalism program by enabling students to produce more live remote broadcasts. The challenge involved overcoming the roadblocks of traditional outside broadcasting, including the high cost of equipment and unreliable field connectivity. To address this, they turned to vendor LiveU for a solution.

LiveU provided its LU600 HEVC portable transmission solution and implemented the LiveU Smart App. This allowed students to cover events from on-campus activities to major ones like the Super Bowl by bonding Wi-Fi and cellular connections for high-quality, resilient HD video. The solution gave students more opportunities to go live on an educational budget, significantly enhancing the program's live production capabilities and pedagogical value.
