Covering the UCI Para-Cycling Road World Championships from motorbikes and drones

The production company livemotion was tasked with providing a live broadcast of the 2024 UCI Para-Cycling Road World Championships, a dynamic event covering over 50 kilometers. Their challenge was to deliver broadcast-grade live video from motorbikes and drones to an OB van without the use of cumbersome cables or costly satellite trucks, all while operating under significant budget constraints. To overcome this, they turned to vendor LiveU for a mobile transmission solution.

LiveU’s cellular bonding technology provided the solution, with five video encoders reliably transmitting live feeds over cellular networks. Using the LiveU Central management platform, the production crew synchronized all feeds for a seamless remote production. The result was a high-quality, uninterrupted live stream that aired globally on Eurovision Sport's platform, successfully meeting broadcast standards at a fraction of the cost of a traditional TV setup.
