Case Study: WWE creates a low-latency virtual fan experience with LiveSwitch

A LiveSwitch Case Study

Preview of the WWE Case Study

WWE, The Famous Group, Quince Imaging and LiveSwitch Deliver an Unprecedented Virtual-Fan Event Experience

WWE, in partnership with The Famous Group and Quince Imaging, needed a way to recreate the energy of a live crowd for its wrestling broadcasts during a time when traditional in-person audiences were not possible. The challenge was to deliver a signature virtual-fan experience with real-time interaction, very low latency, and broadcast-quality video at massive scale, and WWE turned to LiveSwitch for live video infrastructure and WebRTC-based connectivity.

LiveSwitch provided a dedicated cloud instance of its media server, managed hosting, and low-latency live video API to connect thousands of remote fans into the WWE ThunderDome experience. The solution enabled fans to register, appear live on giant arena screens, and interact with performers in real time with zero lag, helping WWE launch a world-first virtual audience model that engaged thousands of fans and reached millions of viewers on TV.
