A LiveSafe Case Study
Brookfield Properties, one of the world’s largest commercial real estate managers with 200 million square feet of office space, needed a faster way to collect and act on safety and security intelligence during rapidly changing events. During the 2017 Washington, D.C. presidential inauguration protests, the company faced violent demonstrations that required real-time awareness and coordinated response across its properties. Brookfield used LiveSafe’s mobile reporting and community-sourced intelligence capabilities as part of its security operations.
With LiveSafe, Brookfield deployed 198 security officers and quickly established a command center using the LiveSafe Platform to gather 188 real-time tips in 12 hours, many with chat, photos, and video. The information let Brookfield redirect resources ahead of protest movements, helping prevent hundreds of thousands of dollars in property damage and achieving zero property damage that day. LiveSafe also helped a supervisor in danger request SafeWalk support, enabling police to locate and escort him to safety.
