Ovative Group, working on behalf of a top-ten retailer, faced the challenge of proving whether display media was truly driving incremental, enterprise-level revenue versus just appearing to drive online sales. To address gaps in measurement and attribution, Ovative Group partnered with LiveRamp and used LiveRamp’s identity linking/IdentityLinks capability to join anonymized CRM, online and offline transaction data with display impression logs for people-based analysis.
LiveRamp enabled an A/B test and identity-linked analysis while Ovative Group built a custom reporting environment to surface actionable insights. The test showed display was far more effective when paired with direct mail (test ROAS −$0.13 without direct mail vs. $1.69 with it) and that display drove up to 6x more revenue when measured at the enterprise level; applying the insights could yield a 350% increase in ROAS, a 30% reduction in spend, and a 2x ROAS improvement by suppressing low-performing impressions—results enabled by LiveRamp’s platform.
