Case Study: MicroAid helps entrepreneurs build stronger business plans with LivePlan

A LivePlan Case Study

Preview of the MicroAid Case Study

Uses LivePlan to build business plans for entrepreneurs fighting extreme poverty

MicroAid, an NGO that helps extremely low-income entrepreneurs find viable business opportunities and plan for sustainable livelihoods, faced the challenge of closing the information gap that often keeps families from turning ideas or cash transfers into profitable enterprises. To support these micro-entrepreneurs, MicroAid turned to LivePlan, using the software to help users build clear business plans and prepare financial projections, especially those with limited business experience or literacy.

With LivePlan, MicroAid’s entrepreneurs were able to organize ideas, check that their financial calculations added up, and create concise one- to three-page pitch plans for investors and lenders. According to MicroAid, the tool also provided sample business plans that helped users learn from other businesses globally, improving their ability to present and launch ventures such as a chocolate shop, a café, and a mobile app company.
