Case Study: Robot Paper achieves stronger financial planning and successful Kickstarter funding with LivePlan

A LivePlan Case Study

Preview of the Robot Paper Case Study

Brian started his comic book company using LivePlan, and he enjoyed it so much he now creates business plans for fun

Robot Paper, a small creative comic-book company led by editor and publisher Brian Wyrick, needed a way to plan its Henchmen project, test financial assumptions, and determine capital needs while launching a Kickstarter campaign. The business was fast-moving and cash-sensitive, so Brian needed clearer visibility into whether the idea could be profitable and how much funding would be required.

Robot Paper used LivePlan to map out the venture, model scenarios, and stay organized around the financials. With LivePlan supporting its planning, the company launched a successful Kickstarter in 2013 and raised enough money to hire different cover artists for each issue; the Henchmen mini-series later reached stores, and the case highlights LivePlan as a key tool in helping Robot Paper make smarter funding and cash-flow decisions.
