UK Export Finance (UKEF), the UK’s export credit agency and a government department, needed to move away from a monolithic incumbent IT contract and adopt a more agile, cloud-first operating model in line with Government Digital Service guidance. To support this transformation, UKEF chose Microsoft Azure for its cloud environment and partnered with Littlefish to provide ITIL-aligned Service Desk, infrastructure support and management, and on-site support.

Littlefish delivered a 24/7/365 Service Desk and integrated support services through a flexible, specialist model that slotted into UKEF’s wider supplier ecosystem. The transition was completed quickly, with some services moved in just eight weeks, and UKEF reported a quantum leap in service quality plus better value for money. Most notably, UKEF achieved its goal of reducing costs by at least 20% year on year, hitting that target from year one.
