Case Study: St Modwen Properties achieves a rapid technology separation with Littlefish

How Littlefish strategically designed and road–mapped a complex, time-critical technology separation for our client, a national property investment and development firm

St Modwen Properties, a British property investment and development firm, needed to separate its technology landscape and IT support services into two distinct business units as part of its strategic plans and a potential future sale. With much of its environment delivered through SaaS and one unit dependent on the larger group for IT support, the company turned to Littlefish for a rapid technology separation project and future managed support planning.

Littlefish created a virtual dedicated delivery team to rapidly discover, design, and govern the separation, capturing more than 350 pages of current-state detail and building a target model based on Microsoft Azure, Microsoft 365, and Microsoft Intune. The plan separated “no regrets” systems, produced a TSA roadmap, and identified cost-saving and simplification opportunities, helping St Modwen gain a clear view of risks, gaps, and future-state options while meeting an aggressive three-month transition timeline with minimal downtime.
