A Little Green Light Case Study
Little Green Light (LGL), a donor-management platform, helped St. Anthony School — a small Catholic elementary school with no paid development staff — tackle scattered alumni, family and donor records and the dual goals of increasing enrollment and reducing the parish subsidy. A volunteer-led advancement committee used a SWOT analysis to identify better data organization and more personalized outreach as the starting point.
By consolidating 75+ years of records into LGL and applying recommendations from LGL’s "6 Steps" ebook (segmented lists, personalized, hand-signed appeals with suggested ask amounts and references to past gifts, plus timely thank-yous and event-based asks), the school dramatically increased engagement. With a month left in the fiscal year they had already surpassed their annual fund goal: donors grew from 52 to 182 and total gifts rose from $15,155 (FY2011) to $52,824 (FY2013), while average gift returned to about $290.
