Case Study: Exploratorium achieves faster reviews and streamlined approvals with Litmus

A Litmus Case Study

Preview of the Exploratorium Case Study

Exploratorium team members review & collect feedback faster than ever before with Litmus—bolstering their mission to transform learning worldwide

The Exploratorium is a San Francisco–based nonprofit museum and educator that creates interactive exhibits and online resources to transform learning worldwide. Serving three core audiences—museum visitors, educators, and global collaborators—the small digital team sends roughly 100 unique email campaigns a month to hundreds of thousands of subscribers and manages feedback from nearly 50 internal stakeholders. Relying on spreadsheets, in-person conversations, and email threads became untenable, especially as work shifted online during the pandemic.

To address this, the Exploratorium moved project management to Jira and centralized email review in Litmus Proof, using groups and tagging to route reviews and Litmus’ QA and automated link checks to validate campaigns across clients and Dark Mode. Centralized feedback eliminated dozens of email threads, sped approvals, reduced inbox clutter and errors, and instilled greater stakeholder accountability—saving time and enabling the team to scale and sustain a large, growing email program.
