Case Study: West Bend Mutual Insurance expands YMCA safety training and secures new accounts with Litmos

West Bend Insurance Company helps YMCA through eLearning

West Bend Mutual Insurance Company’s specialty lines division—serving YMCAs, child care centers and social service organizations—needed a way to deliver value-added safety and emergency-preparedness training to over 200 YMCA locations across 10 states. With limited internal training resources they required an LMS that was quick to deploy, mobile-friendly, able to host mixed media, intuitive for customers to administer, and largely hands-off for West Bend staff.

West Bend selected Litmos, a cloud-hosted LMS that met all requirements and let YMCA users manage courses and learners themselves with minimal West Bend oversight. Eight courses are live (including safety, child abuse recognition and blood-borne pathogen training), the program has enabled new account business that wouldn’t have been possible otherwise, and West Bend plans to expand its online offerings.
