A Litera Kira Case Study
Osler, a leading Canadian business law firm, needed to modernize and scale high‑volume contract review and due diligence work—a need that became more acute with the shift to remote work during COVID‑19. To address this, Osler’s Osler Works – Transactional team adopted Litera Kira’s contract‑review AI platform (Kira) as a core technology to accelerate and standardize review across M&A, capital markets, leases, franchise and other commercial matters.
Litera Kira was piloted and then integrated into Osler Works’ end‑to‑end due diligence and document‑abstraction workflows, enabling faster, scalable remote reviews (including lease abstractions, estoppel certificates, deal‑point analysis and force‑majeure assessments) and supporting virtual closings and transacting for a range of clients. As a result, Kira became an integral part of Osler’s transactional offering, helped keep deals moving through the pandemic, and supported broader digital initiatives that drove strong client engagement—Osler’s COVID‑19 resource hub has attracted over 500,000 unique pageviews and its CPD webinars have drawn hundreds of attendees.
