A Litera Kira Case Study
Document Crunch, founded in 2018 by construction lawyers Joshua Levy and Adam Handfinger, set out to solve the problem of reviewing lengthy, technical construction contracts without industry‑specific tools. To do this they built an AI‑driven contract review service for small and mid‑size construction firms using the Kira platform powered by Litera Kira.
Litera Kira supplies the AI backend that Document Crunch trained on construction‑specific language and clause types, enabling a cost‑effective solution that quickly extracts parties, designated representatives, excusable delays/force majeure, and notice timing and service requirements. The Litera Kira–powered system has received strong accuracy feedback from industry users, is helping customers rapidly identify contractual rights (including during COVID‑19), and Document Crunch donates 10% of proceeds from the pandemic tool to the CDC Foundation.
