Chemtrade Uses Kira in US$900M Acquisition

Chemtrade Logistics, an industrial chemicals provider in North America, faced a time- and cost-sensitive legal due diligence challenge while completing a US$900 million acquisition of General Chemical. To streamline contract review for that deal, Chemtrade engaged Litera Kira’s Kira contract-review software through its outside counsel and internal legal team.

Litera Kira’s Kira software was used by Chemtrade’s counsel (Osler, Hoskin & Harcourt LLP) to find and highlight key provisions, auto-generate summary charts, and support workflow and data analysis. The tool sped up due diligence, made the process notably more cost-effective, and helped enable the successful closing of the US$900M acquisition; Chemtrade reported a positive experience and plans to use Litera Kira for future review work.
