ProfileUnity does the Heavy Lifting on Windows® XP Migration Project for Hyundai Heavy Industries

Hyundai Heavy Industries needed to migrate 1,800 Windows XP virtual desktop users to Windows 7 as part of its move to VMware View, while also supporting a target group of 3,000 users. The company found that manual migration with Microsoft tools would take too much time and effort, especially because IT staff also had day-to-day support duties.

Liquidware’s ProfileUnity was used with Daou Tech and HHI staff to automate the migration, which was completed in approximately three weeks. The desktops stayed functional during the process, worker productivity was not affected, and the team completed 250 migrations in a single night. HHI said the solution let it move employees quickly without disrupting work or losing user, data, and application settings.
