NHBC Builds Virtual and Physical Desktops with ProfileUnity

National House Building Council (NHBC), the UK’s leading independent standard-setting body and warranty provider for new homes, needed to move off Windows XP and standardize on Microsoft Windows 7. Because its 1,100 office and field workers included remote staff, building inspectors, and other users with different work styles, NHBC also needed a way to support a hybrid environment of physical and virtual desktops.

After VMware consultants recommended Liquidware Labs ProfileUnity, NHBC used the product for migration, user profile management, and ongoing user environment management across both virtual and physical desktops. Liquidware helped NHBC start a background sync of user data weeks before migration, reduce policy objects, and simplify folder redirection, which shortened login times and reduced configuration errors while supporting persistent user settings across sessions.
