livin Housing is a homes and community organisation in County Durham that manages more than 8,500 residential and commercial properties. As it moved into a new purpose-built office, the ICT team wanted a modern PC environment, including a move from Windows XP to Windows 7 and greater use of virtual desktops. Its early remote presentation sessions did not deliver the performance, stability, or profile management it needed, so the organisation looked to Liquidware and ProfileUnity for help.

Liquidware’s ProfileUnity was deployed to work with the VMware View environment and provide simpler profile management for 95 virtual desktops, with 175 users planned. livin Housing said user settings now persist from session to session, even after desktop refreshes, making updates easier and faster to manage. The team also said problem resolution is faster because it can roll back to a known-good desktop image in a few clicks, freeing up support time and giving the organization confidence to expand its virtual desktop environment.
