Shell Exploration & Production Company (SEPCo) faced significant efficiency challenges within its SAP Plant Maintenance (PM) module. Technicians had to navigate through multiple complex transactions and screens to access order statuses, record equipment history, and capture work variance information, leading to a cumbersome and error-prone data entry process. To address this, SEPCo partnered with vendor Liquid UI and implemented its Liquid UI for SAP GUI solution to streamline these workflows.

The solution from Liquid UI consolidated multiple SAP PM screens and enhanced the standard CATS time entry transaction. This allowed technicians to confirm operations, enter failure history, and update orders directly from a single screen, drastically reducing navigation and keystrokes. As a result, Shell achieved improved operational efficiency and data accuracy. The Liquid UI implementation also increased employee efficiency by automating repetitive data entry and reusing common data, all without any backend development.
