Case Study: Maersk achieves 59% operational efficiency with Liquid UI Offline

A Liquid UI Case Study

Preview of the Maersk Case Study

Maersk improves 59% of operational efficiency by enabling seamless SAP access even w/o connectivity

Maersk Drilling, part of the Maersk group, needed reliable SAP Plant Maintenance access for oil rig technicians working in remote environments with frequent VSAT network downtime. Paper-based maintenance procedures caused duplicate entry, delays, and inaccurate data, while limited access to equipment and asset records slowed work and increased risk. Liquid UI helped address these challenges with Liquid UI Offline, Liquid UI for Handheld Scanguns, and Liquid UI Server.

Liquid UI implemented offline and online SAP PM access so technicians could create and change work orders, confirm time, issue goods, and search equipment details even without connectivity. The solution used a local SQLite database and store-and-forward syncing to reduce network traffic and automatically upload data when a connection was available. As a result, Maersk improved maintenance personnel productivity by 52% and operational efficiency by 59%, while also reducing training and IT support through a unified interface.
