Gold Coast Health & Hospital Service - Customer Case Study

Gold Coast Health & Hospital Service (GCHHS) sought to improve transparency for patients and their support network while also increasing efficiency for its clinical staff at the Varsity Lakes Day Surgery. The key challenges included the significant time nurses spent updating anxious families on patient progress and a general communication gap that caused stress for everyone involved. They partnered with Liquid State to develop a prototype Patient Journey Tracker to address these issues.

Liquid State built a fully functional Proof-of-Concept (PoC) consisting of the myGCsurgery app for patients and their circle of support and an administrative dashboard. The solution provided automatic, personalized notifications and communications aligned with the patient's surgical journey, triggered by status updates. This project demonstrated the ability to reduce staff workload and ease patient and family anxiety through timely, reliable information.
