Preview of the Cambridge University Press Case Study

Cambridge University Press validates a new research platform in 8 weeks with LION+MASON

Cambridge University Press, a prestigious academic publisher, engaged the specialist UX consultancy LION+MASON to validate and design a new collaborative research platform. Their challenge was to modernize the traditional, isolated academic publishing process by exploring a digital concept that encouraged early-stage research sharing and collaboration, which required thorough validation before any development investment.

LION+MASON conducted extensive user research, including 25 hours of interviews with academics, before moving into UX and UI design. Their solution involved creating wireframes, an interactive prototype, and a high-fidelity atomic design system, all refined through multiple rounds of user testing. The result was a fully validated concept and a scalable, tested design ready for development, providing Cambridge University Press with a strong foundation to build the new platform.
