Optimized Data Flow for Valve Technology

The GEMÜ Group, a major manufacturer of industrial valves, faced challenges in managing its highly complex, customer-specific product configurations. Their previous process for generating quotes was highly manual, knowledge-intensive, and slow, requiring significant validation between sales and engineering teams. To address this, GEMÜ partnered with vendor Lino to implement Tacton Design Automation for Solidworks.

Lino implemented Tacton Design Automation and developed add-ons to create a rule-based CPQ (Configure, Price, Quote) solution. This automated the configuration process, generated 3D models and drawings for sales, and performed automatic technical feasibility checks. The results were dramatic: Lino's solution drastically reduced the time to create production data and generate quotes. Customers now receive a reliable response with a 3D model within minutes instead of waiting days or weeks.
