Case Study: ICIJ Unravels the Panama Papers with Linkurious Enterprise

A Linkurious Case Study

Preview of the ICIJ Case Study

How Linkurious enables ICIJ to investigate the massive Mossack Fonseca leaks

The International Consortium of Investigative Journalists (ICIJ) faced the immense challenge of analyzing a 2.6 terabyte data leak, known as the Panama Papers, with a small technical team. The unstructured data contained millions of documents that needed to be processed and cross-referenced to uncover complex networks of fraud and corruption for a global team of journalists.

Leveraging Linkurious Enterprise, ICIJ was able to visually explore the data loaded into a graph database. This solution enabled 370 reporters worldwide to collaboratively and intuitively investigate connections, leading to breakthrough revelations. The use of Linkurious Enterprise was integral to the investigation's success, which culminated in a Pulitzer Prize, and allowed ICIJ to embed publication-ready visualizations for their readers.
