Octopus Energy is an award-winning renewable energy company founded in 2015 that has rapidly scaled across 18 countries. As it grew, the business needed to attract diverse, mission-driven talent—people passionate about decarbonisation and customer service—but found LinkedIn’s recruitment potential underutilised and required better market insight, faster time-to-hire and improved candidate management across regions.
Working with LinkedIn, Octopus built a storytelling-led employer brand using Life and Career Pages, Talent Insights, region-specific training and AI-assisted tools to reach broader talent pools. The approach drove strong outcomes: Life Page viewers are 5.8x more likely to be hired, AI-assisted InMails achieved a 55.3% response rate (15% above benchmark) and InMail acceptance rose from 22% to 32%; organic content influenced 74% of hires and Life Pages generate about 16,000 applications a year (300,000+ to date), while making recruiters more efficient.
