How LinkedIn Learning helped the Law Society embed a positive attitude towards self-development

The Law Society, the professional body for solicitors in England and Wales, needed to shift a long-standing mindset where staff underinvested in their own development even as the organisation modernised its technology and moved to cloud-based systems. Leadership aimed to align the Digital Workplace Programme with Capability & Talent to embed a culture of continuous, role-relevant learning and speed adoption of new ways of working.

They won leadership buy‑in and rolled out LinkedIn Learning—building a digital learning needs tool, training “Digital Heroes” to curate and recommend content, and promoting Learning at Work Week to make learning on demand and practical. The programme delivered strong results: 400 licences with 100% activation, 85% of Digital Workplace training delivered via LinkedIn Learning, 1,212 hours of learning and 24,778 video views in 12 months, an award for the project, and a clear shift toward an “everyday learner” mindset.
