Danaher’s Product Identification Platform (PID) set out to diversify its workforce by increasing female representation. Internal LinkedIn job data showed many women viewed roles but didn’t apply—reflecting research that women commonly apply only when they meet nearly all listed criteria—so the team needed to rethink sourcing, job language and hiring requirements.
Using LinkedIn Talent Insights and Gender InMail reporting, recruiters renegotiated hiring criteria with managers, broadened talent pools and revised job titles and post language (e.g., “Technical Sales Engineer” to “Sales Engineer”) to reduce perceived barriers. Within six months in the U.S., female applicants rose 8%, with 5% more progressing to interviews and 4% more reaching offers.
