CBRE, a global commercial property consultancy operating in over 50 countries, faced a talent crisis as rapid growth exposed the limits of a purely reactive recruitment model. The firm was losing out to competitors on speed and quality of hires and needed greater control, faster engagement with candidates, improved employer brand awareness, and reduced hiring costs and management time.
CBRE partnered with LinkedIn to use Market Mapping, proactive pipelining and year‑round employer branding, shifting from reactive hiring to strategic sourcing. In 12 months they more than doubled LinkedIn followers (8,999 to 18,655), raised their Talent Brand Index from 13.1% to 27.9%, increased hires from 280 to 400, made 100 higher‑quality direct hires, now directly source ~50% of hires, and report a £3 return for every £1 spent.
