AppSense, a 500-employee global software company, faced a talent challenge: to attract specialist engineers, account managers and salespeople while competing with much larger tech brands. Historically reliant on third-party recruiters and with limited employer recognition, AppSense needed a stronger employer brand to become a top choice for in-demand candidates.
Partnering with LinkedIn Talent Solutions, AppSense built a targeted Careers Page, ran a Follower campaign, activated employees as brand ambassadors and used LinkedIn Recruiter for precision sourcing. Followers grew 66% to just under 5,000, employee LinkedIn adoption rose from ~350 to 467, and 25% of hires last year were sourced via LinkedIn (20% introduced through the Careers Page). AppSense now fills 60% of roles directly—reversing its previous dependence on third-party recruiters—and ranks in the top four on LinkedIn’s Talent Brand Index.
