Aurecon is a global engineering, advisory and project delivery firm of about 7,500 people across 28 countries that faced the twin challenges of integrating three legacy businesses after a merger and differentiating itself in a largely undifferentiated professional services market. Because Aurecon’s product is its people, the company needed to align employer and corporate brands, clarify ownership between Marketing and Human Capital, and build a believable employer value proposition that could be delivered consistently across regions.
Marketing and Human Capital formed a joint approach: they hired a dedicated employer-brand professional, ran research (focus groups, surveys, exit feedback), built programs like the Aurecon Award, and amplified employee profiles and recruitment campaigns on LinkedIn (significantly growing followership). By tracking metrics such as attrition, acquisition cost and benchmark comparisons, Aurecon improved internal engagement, strengthened talent attraction and gained clearer evidence of how a stronger employer brand supports better client service and business results.
