A LinkedIn Learning Case Study
Yakima School District, which serves more than 15,000 students and employs over 2,000 staff across 24 schools, needed a fast, scalable way to train hundreds of teachers and staff after migrating from Office 2003 to Office 2010. The district faced rising, diverse training requests (15–20 per week), limited IT capacity, and a requirement to track usage and outcomes to justify professional development investments.
The district adopted lynda.com’s lyndaCampus to give personalized, on-demand access to faculty, staff and 7,000 secondary students, including exercise files and detailed usage reports. The result: teachers and students use short video lessons to supplement classroom instruction and certification prep, professional development credit drives adoption, non‑IT staff solve problems independently, and the IT team is freed to focus on strategic initiatives—delivering convenient, cost‑effective training with measurable outcomes.
