University of the West of England relies on lynda.com for institution-wide, on-demand instruction

The University of the West of England (UWE Bristol) needed to scale digital skills training across campuses as part of its Strategy 2020 vision. Administrators faced the dual challenge of keeping faculty, staff and 30,000+ students up to date on software, creative and business skills and providing a 24/7, on-demand “virtual help desk” so users could access timely instruction anytime and anywhere.

UWE adopted lyndaCampus, giving institution-wide access to lynda.com’s comprehensive course library and integrating it into HR portals, the library and Blackboard, supported by a steering committee to drive adoption. The result: faculty use playlists as pre- or post-class assignments to make class time more efficient, staff access flexible professional development, students build workplace-ready skills, and administrators can monitor usage to boost uptake.
