The University of Brighton delivers well-rounded learning with Lynda.com

The University of Brighton, a public university with five campuses serving about 20,000 students, needed a cost-effective way to boost digital literacy for both staff and students as part of a wider digital transformation. The information services team faced the ongoing challenge of keeping faculty and learners up-to-date with rapidly changing technologies and ensuring students had the basic software skills required to make classroom time more productive.

The university adopted Lynda.com, promoting it across departments, using creative outreach and integrating it into flipped-classroom workflows and curated playlists so learners complete basics before sessions. Adoption drove strong engagement—more than 94,000 videos (6,000+ hours) watched in a year, roughly 1,000 new learners in 30 days and over 3,000 new learners in a year—resulting in more efficient trainings and better-prepared students.
