Patagonia, the global outdoor apparel and gear company, needed a way to scale employee training as it grew to more than 1,200 employees across offices and retail locations. Existing lyndaPro licenses helped with software and business skills but limited concurrent users, forcing manual license juggling and leaving many employees without timely access while the company built a new Learning & Development function.
In 2012 Patagonia implemented lyndaEnterprise to provide organization‑wide, 24/7 access to lynda.com, supported by an internal rollout and on-site client services. The on-demand courses (popular ones include Excel and the Adobe suite) complemented in-person training, served learners at all skill levels, eliminated access bottlenecks, became a valued employee benefit and recruiting point, and paved the way for LMS integration and tracked learning paths.
