A LinkedIn Learning Case Study
Penton is a long-established B2B information and marketing company with more than 1,200 employees and dozens of brands and digital properties. As the business shifted from print toward websites, mobile and user-generated content, Penton needed a scalable way to build digital, software and creative skills across a distributed workforce—live, in-person training couldn’t reach everyone and budgets were limited.
Penton adopted lynda.com’s on-demand video library to supplement live sessions and provide just-in-time help via searchable, time‑coded transcripts. Employees received licenses, used courses on HTML, Java, SEO, Excel and Adobe tools, and managers now include training goals in reviews. The program eased the load on IT and L&D, increased skill uptake and freed the training manager to focus on larger, customized learning initiatives.
