Preview of the Maxis Case Study

Communications leader builds a digital learning culture

Maxis Berhad, a leading Malaysian telecommunications provider with about 3,000 employees, wanted to build a digital workplace and update its learning strategy from mostly classroom-based training to on-demand learning. After an initial platform proved outdated and employees requested more relevant digital skills training, Maxis sought a modern, mobile-friendly solution that would integrate with its LMS, support self-directed learning and help drive company-wide digitalization.

Maxis selected Lynda.com from LinkedIn for its large library of expert-led courses and intuitive cloud-based interface, and promoted it across the company to drive adoption. Within six months seat count nearly doubled to cover almost half the workforce; engaged learners averaged 21 minutes per login, 70% returned every quarter, and over 60% of viewed courses were completed. The platform boosted mobile learning (40%+ usage), reduced classroom costs, complemented blended learning initiatives, and provided analytics to align training with career goals and the company’s “I Grow” framework.
