A global leader in wireless technologies needed to make its Drupal 7 website multilingual, but the site’s unique “pod” architecture (built by digital agency Mirum) let administrators customize page fields and themes via drag-and-drop—functionality Drupal’s core multilingual tools couldn’t handle. Manual localization was becoming time-consuming, costly, and error-prone, so pod translation support was required before the corporate site could go global.

Lingotek’s Inside Drupal 7 Module integrated the company’s Drupal site with Lingotek’s cloud TMS, and Lingotek and Mirum added support for custom entities (pods) via code-level hooks so pod content could be passed, translated, and stored automatically. The site relaunched multilingual within six months (English and Chinese nearly simultaneous), was localized into eight languages, and saw faster, automated translations with lower costs, higher quality, fewer errors, and more efficient resource allocation—ongoing updates continue through the module.
