Drupal Module + TMS + Acquia Give Varian More Automation, Integration & Faster Translation

Varian Medical Systems, a global maker of medical devices and software, needed to standardize and speed up localization across multiple departments for its Drupal-based website. Disparate processes, several vendors, a labor-intensive workflow and a TMS that produced code errors left Varian searching for a Drupal connector and a user-friendly translation management system that could integrate with existing systems and centralize translation memory.

Varian implemented Acquia’s Drupal platform together with Lingotek’s cloud-based TMS and the Lingotek‑Inside‑Drupal module, giving teams an integrated translation workflow inside Drupal. The solution centralized TM and glossaries, automated project workflows, simplified LSP onboarding and eliminated manual file handling—enabling faster translations, cost savings through TM leverage and seamless Drupal integration. As a result Varian has launched five translated sites and is on track to have its corporate site in 11 languages by year‑end.
