A Lincoln Loop Case Study
The Big Cities Health Coalition, representing public health officials from 35 major U.S. cities, needed to make a large and complex public health dataset accessible for policymakers, researchers, and the public. Their challenge was to build a platform that could clearly visualize stratified data, handle large updates reliably, and be managed by non-developers. Lincoln Loop was engaged to develop a custom data visualization solution to meet this need.
Lincoln Loop built the Big Cities Health Inventory Data Platform using Django and Vue.js. The solution provided clear, explorable visualizations with a reliable data ingestion process and an intuitive user interface designed for various exploration methods. The platform successfully manages approximately 250,000 records across 125 metrics for 35 cities. It was delivered on time and within budget, and it continues to operate with minimal maintenance, providing a stable foundation for public health research and policy decision-making.
